We work with circularity and recover high-quality surplus yarns to reintroduce them into our processes and give them a new life.
we use natural and local materials whenever possible.
OUR MATERIALS
cotton
The oldest knit fiber and one of the most versatile: lightweight, breathable and skin-friendly all year round. It doesn't irritate, doesn't feel heavy, and adapts to the body with ease. It has been cultivated for over 6,000 years, and it continues to be the basis of many of our pieces for a simple reason: it works.
bamboo
A surprising fiber: strong and durable, yet light and soft to the touch. It is hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and naturally breathable, making it one of our favorites for the warmer months. Additionally, bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on the planet. Naturally renewable and biodegradable.
wool
Live fiber, with memory. It absorbs moisture without losing heat, doesn't wrinkle, and each quality. Determined by the fiber's diameter and the type of sheep, it has its own unique feel and behavior. Biodegradable and recyclable, wool is one of the most complete materials available and the basis of much of our work.
mohair
Extracted from the Angora goat, mohair is the most durable natural fiber of all. Silky, elastic, and with that characteristic drape. Lightweight yet substantial. It regulates body temperature, absorbs moisture, and doesn't wrinkle. It's the material we use most at erdi, and the one that best defines our understanding of knitwear.
cashmere
A material of limited production, extracted from the hair of cashmere goats. Extremely fine and soft, silkier than wool, it retains heat with an efficiency that requires no bulk. Hypoallergenic and antistatic, cashmere is pure luxury in its most understated form.
yak
Fiber obtained from the coat of the Tibetan yak, one of the animals most adapted to extreme conditions. Incredibly soft, warm, and with exceptional thermoregulating properties. A material we're very fond of and will soon incorporate into our processes.
flax
One of the oldest fibers in the world, obtained from the flax plant. Fresh, resistant, and with a texture that improves with use and washing. Natural, biodegradable, and low-impact. Everything we look for in a material.
nylon
A synthetic that appears in some of our yarn blends in small proportions. We use it when the material requires it to improve the strength or shape of the garment, always in combination with natural fibers.
